LIMA — A Lima man charged with murder in the shooting death of a man at the Gas Station Bar last summer appeared in court briefly Wednesday to waive his right to a speedy trial.
DeArin Thomas, 25, of Lima, is charged with two counts of murder with firearm specifications, unclassified felonies, and one count of felonious assault with a firearm specification, a second-degree felony, in the July 5 shooting death of Davohn Godsey at the Lima bar located at 126 E. North St.
A second person, 30-year-old Marlon Godsey, also suffered a gunshot wound in the incident. He was treated and released from a local hospital. Witnesses told police an argument broke out inside the bar, and the combatants began firing shots.
