LIMA — A Lima woman who drove her sports utility vehicle into a residential yard and struck another female avoided prison time on Thursday.
Brandi Evans, 33, was sentenced to 90 days in the county jail and four years of probation on a second-degree felony charge of felonious assault. The charge stemmed from a July 16, 2017 incident during which Evans drove her 1998 Chevy Blazer into a yard in the 800 block of Broadway Avenue in Lima and struck a woman she knew.
The victim, Shena Gibson, suffered injuries that required hospitalization and faces additional surgeries for neurological injuries suffered during the incident, it was noted during Thursday’s sentencing hearing.
