A Lima police officer was treated and released, for minor injuries, following a scuffle with a suspect police confronted with an arrest warrant.
Police say the incident happened earlier Tuesday at the corner of Elizabeth and McKibben Street. It started when an officer spotted the suspect who had an arrest warrant out for them. As officers attempted to arrest the suspect they actively fought back, striking Officer Tanner Engle. The suspect then stumbled and fell while trying to flee, injuring themselves. Both the suspect and the officer were taken in for treatment. Engle was treated and released.
The suspect is facing the charges on the warrant and now additional charges following the incident.
