LIMA — A 20-year-old man who is charged with murder had his case temporarily dismissed in Lima Municipal Court on Wednesday, but he is being kept in jail on another charge from Michigan.
Cory L. Jackson, who was charged in the shooting death of 20-year-old Amari Gooding, appeared briefly in court for a preliminary hearing before the case was dismissed. A key witness was unable to appear in court, leading to a dismissal of the hearing. Jackson remained in the Allen County Jail.
Though the case was dismissed Wednesday, Jackson was still being charged with Gooding’s murder. His case has been sent to a grand jury for review, though there was no indication when the jury would hear the case.
